What is a Patent Bet?
A Patent bet is a type of multiple bet in sports betting, typically involving three selections. It consists of seven individual bets: three singles, three doubles, and one treble. This means that even if only one of your selections wins, you'll still receive a payout, although the payout will be smaller compared to if two or all three selections win.
Here’s how the seven bets are structured:
- 3 singles (one for each selection)
- 3 doubles (combining two selections at a time)
- 1 treble (a bet on all three selections winning)
The advantage of a Patent bet is that it increases your chances of getting a return, even if not all selections win. However, since it involves seven bets, the stake is also higher, as you need to place seven separate bets rather than one.
