QUICK-PICK BETTING

In this section of boxing quick-picks, we list a few bets we would have for an interest in some of the fights and events that haven't warranted a full preview and would only be a fun bet with a small stake. Use the Odds Converter to switch between different odds formats here.

20 April 2025

  • Ben Whittaker is the 76% favourite at decimal odds of 1.25 versus Liam Cameron, the 24% underdog with odds of 4.00 for their fight in Birmingham in April.
  • Win, lose or draw in the rematch, we think Cameron should not be as big as 3/1 so we'd suggest taking an early position, two months out [14-Feb-2025], and backing him to finish the job he started last time out.
Liam Cameron to Win3/1 (4.00 decimal odds; +300 US odds)

24 February 2025

  • Junto Nakatani is the 83% favourite at decimal odds of 1.14 versus David Cuéllar Contreras, the 17% underdog with odds of 5.50 for their fight in Tokyo a few days after The Last Crescendo
  • At 23, Cuéllar Contreras is young, aggressive and unbeaten. He’ll likely come forward and try to pressure Nakatani, who will be in his 30th fight and in his prime. Expect Nakatani to break his opponent down and score a late stoppage, possibly before they enter the championship rounds [18-Feb-2025].
Nakatani Round 910/1 (11.00 decimal odds; +1000 US odds)
Nakatani Round 1012/1 (13.00 decimal odds; +1200 US odds)

8 February 2025

  • Otto Wallin is a fighter whose career highlight was cutting Tyson Fury badly and still managing to lose a very wide decision, despite Fury's handicap. His only win of note was against Murat Gassiev, who was also a natural Cruiserweight. In Wallin's next fight, he was dominated and KOed by Anthony Joshua in 6 rounds. Since then, Wallin has had only one 8-round fight against a cherry-picked, journeyman, who had been stopped 4 times previously. As expected, Wallin scored a one-round KO which proved nothing.
  • Wallin's southpaw stance will present no challenge to Chisora who faced the very best Heavyweight southpaw that there is, Oleksandr Usyk, and gave Usyk what many feel was his toughest fight. If we exclude Chisora's most recent fight with Fury, who has been dominating Chisora in that exact same fashion as far back as 2011, then in Chisora's last 3 fights, he owns victories over Joe Joyce, Gerald Washington and Kubrat Pulev. Chisora's only career losses have always been to the very best heavyweights, have always been highly competitive and nobody has ever accused Otto Wallin of being one of the very best Heavyweights.
The thinking here is that this 41-year-old, slower version of Chisora still has enough heart, will and experience left in the tank to defeat Otto Wallin.
  • This is a fight we suggest picking the much older but far more experienced underdog. There is no tangible evidence to support Wallin being a -225 favorite in this fight, other than Chisora's age, which has not yet shown itself enough to justify those inaccurate odds. This 41 year old, slower version of Chisora still has enough heart, will and experience left in the tank to defeat Otto Wallin.
  • Bet the underdog "Derek Chisora to Win" at +175 ... or:
  • We've organised a Price Boost for Chisora backers in the UK, you can get odds of 3.00 (2/1 fractional) as a SharpBetting Special price with ToteSports - a better price than available anywhere else.
The SharpBetting Special; Derek Chisora available at 3.00 decimal odds
Derek Chisora to Win 2/1 (3.00 decimal odds; +200 US odds)

1 February 2025

  • Brandon Figueroa vs Stephen Fulton: This rematch will be at featherweight and most thought Figueroa beat Fulton in the first fight at Super-Bantamweight 3 years ago. Figueroa moved back up to Featherweight after the Fulton fight and has had three fights against top opposition and has won all three, including two by stoppage. In comparison, since they first fought Fulton has been TKOed by Inoue and then he also moved back up to Featherweight for his last fight, struggled, got knocked down and barely won a controversial decision over Carlos Castro, a fighter who Figueroa had recently TKOed at Featherweight.
Expect Figueroa to win this one, and possibly by stoppage too.
  • Figueroa is peaking at Featherweight but Fulton is showing signs of slippage, and the majority thought Figueroa won their first fight at Super-Bantamweight. Expect Figueroa to win this one, and possibly by stoppage too.
  • Quick Pick: Brandon Figueroa To Win at -222 (1.45 decimal)
  • and for those looking for a better payout, consider the parlay of Figueroa and Benavidez to win in a double that pays +120 (2.20 decimal odds).
Figueroa to win4/9 (1.45 decimal odds; -222 US odds)
Figueroa & Benavidez to win6/5 (2.20 decimal odds; +120 US odds)

8 January 2025

  • Jai Opetaia takes on David Nyika in Australia on Wednesday morning (midday UK-time).  Opetaia has much professional experience at the very top level, and has proven he can be very effective over the 12-round distance, something that is not true of Nyika. Nyika is not ready for this fight, it is too big a step up.
  • In a quick-pick bet for this one, Johnny Wright is taking Fight To Finish In Rounds 5-8 at 2/1 with Bet365, and Under 7.5 Rounds at 11/10, also with Bet365.
Expect Opetaia to start slowly, letting Nyika do his thing and maybe even look competitive for 2 or 3 rounds but once the fight gets into the 4th round and Nyika is out of his comfort zone, Opetaia will gradually get more aggressive. And after softening Nyika up a bit in round 4, look for Opetaia to begin to open up more starting in round 5 and to score a KO/TKO between rounds 5 and 8.
Fight To Finish In Rounds 5-82/1 (3.00 decimal odds; +200 US odds)
Total Rounds Under 7.511/10 (2.10 decimal odds; +110 US odds)

21 December 2024

We are super-excited to announce a David's Daily exclusive boxing special - it's available at 4/1 (5.00 decimal) and is certainly a fun bet to cheer on for the big fight on Saturday.

David's Daily Usyk Special [20-Dec-2024]

Bet365 is offering odds of 1.40 that Usyk will not be knocked down by Fury. Given Fury's lack of genuine heavyweight punch power, his historical struggles with lefties, and Usyk's world-class chin, it would be a surprise to see this short price come unstuck. But it is a little short for a single bet, so there is a short-priced fourfold accumulator (parlay) that pays 2.42 which might be a fun, small-stakes bet that will get this outcome on side.

  • Check out our full Usyk-Fury rematch preview here. For a quick-pick bet that covers the card, there's decimal odds of 2.42 available for this fourfold accumulator:
  1. Tyson Fury to score less than 0.5 knockdowns @ 1.40
  2. Moses Itauma to beat Demsey McKean @ 1.062
  3. Johnny Fisher to beat David Allen @ 1.062
  4. Lee McGregor to beat Isaac Lowe @ 1.53

7 December 2024

  • Paro vs Hitchins: Hitchins has shown holes in his game that can be exploited by a talented counterpuncher like Paro. Paro can bang with the best of them and also has the ability to box so he has a lot of tools in his arsenal.  Paro to Win the fight (-125 US odds; 1.80 decimal odds) and to Win By KO/TKO/DQ (+500 US odds; 6.00 decimal odds).
  • Dacres vs Adeleye: Dacres is out from 2.37 to 2.50 (+150 US odds); Adeleye has been backed in from 1.57 to 1.53 (-189 US odds). The market could be underestimating Dacres' solid fundamentals here, while Adeleye might have shown some signs of confidence issues. Gun to head, Over 8.5 Rounds at 1.80 decimal odds (-125 US odds).
