Generating £7465 profit with SharpBetting.co.uk, with ZERO gambling experience and no understanding of football!

My final profit chart

Venturing into a world of football betting was never on my radar. I’d never gambled before, unless you really want to count an evening in Majorca playing Pontoon for matchsticks when I was 15 (I lost, by the way). It was safe to say I had very little interest in gambling, and also sports.

So how did I end up doing this? It began when my friends had devised a prototype tool that went on to become the SharpBetting football service. They wanted to try it out on someone who had no gambling experience. I had some time to kill, and enough money to stake up to £50 a bet, so I took a chance.

Early days

I was a novice, completely out of my depth in this new environment. I lacked any familiarity with football and had never navigated my way around a bookmakers website before, it felt like I was trying to understand a new foreign language. Little did I know that within two weeks, I would be confidently placing bets in very quick succession, juggling multiple bookmakers with stakes ranging from £30 to £50.

My approach to betting was not rooted in complex statistical analysis or odds scrutiny (I left that bit up to the SharpBetting software to do), it revolved around getting the job done efficiently, i.e. placing as many bets as I could whilst integrating it into my daily routine. I placed what I could, when I could, as often as I could. It was a few minutes at a time several times a day to place the most to date bets.

Gaining confidence

Every £500 profit milestone made me feel more confident (and relieved!), but the journey was definitely not without challenges. Once you’ve seen increase after increase and suddenly you get an unexpected dip, it’s pretty scary.

When I hit £6,800, I was pretty sure that I would reach the £7,000 mark, no problem. But then I had a bad run - eek! As I scrolled through the results page, I saw chunks of losing bets and my profit dipped. Was my beautiful profit feed going to dip below the expected profit line? How could I reclaim this lost ground?

In moments of uncertainty and panic, I learned to trust the process. I was told to keep placing the same sized bets and under no circumstance start to chase my losses. I could see that there were some winning games coming through, so I could at least play off of those winnings without having to deposit more money.

I adopted a little and often approach, i.e. only bet on games that would start within the next hour and keep on checking back for new matches a little more often than I usually would. Luckily, the extra bit of effort seemed to pay off, and soon, I had clawed my way back from £6,100 to £6,800 (and then onwards from there. Yay!).

Restrictions

Another thing that did surprise me was that I felt that my stakes were limited quicker than my male counterparts. Whilst I can’t prove anything, it did seem a little odd that I couldn’t get more than a couple of full bets on with certain bookmakers than others, even if I had not gambled with any of their associates.

The restrictions came at different times and appeared to come at random. One firm restricted me after just 8 bets and £158 of stakes. I was £35 in loss with the sportsbook so whoever was in charge must have been a clairvoyant. Another sportsbook let me stake £42,705 and win £3,175 before they restricted me.

Performances with different Sportsbooks

The one thing all the sportsbooks had in common is eventually they stopped me betting or reduced my stakes to such a low level it was not worth my time playing anymore.

Conclusion

So at the end of all of this, I walked away with £7,465 in tax-free profits from an initial stake of £50 a bet over the course of three months.

I am extremely happy with that, but beyond the monetary gain, my experience of stepping out of my comfort zone paid off in more ways than one; I’ve learnt new lingo, and I’ve also walked away with an interest in Women’s Football. It just goes to show, even the unlikeliest of individuals can find success in the maybe-not-so-unpredictable world of sports betting.
