Here we take a look at some of the picks worth considering among the impressive undercard on Saturday night.

Apache to gun down Warrington

by James Walton

Anthony Cacace faces Josh Warrington on the undercard of Joshua Dubois this Saturday. Cacace is coming off the best performance of his career after stopping IBF champion Joe Cordina in eight rounds. The Belfast man has always been highly thought of around the gyms, but always seemed part of the “who wants him” club.

Now he gets another big opportunity to showcase his skills in front of a 96,000 crowd. Opposite him will be Josh Warrington. Warrington is lacking the momentum Cacace seems to have at this moment, with just one win in his last five. The Leeds man was boxing well last time before Leigh Wood stopped him in the seventh.

Latest Odds:

  • Cacace 4/9
  • Draw 18/1
  • Warrington 2/1

One of the key factors in this fight could be, Warrington’s first attempt at Super-Featherweight. A career Featherweight, Warrington doesn’t seem in need of the step up and Cacace is a big Super Feather.

Match-making is about timing and Warrington at his best would have probably too high an activity for Cacace and won a close decision.

This is a 33 year-old Warrington now though and one who has one win since 2019. I expect Cacace’s strength and being the fresher man to count down the stretch and I'd take him to stop Warrington.

  • Cacace by TKO/KO/DQ/TD  @ 7/4 (2.75) with BetFred.

Buatsi can get to Hutchinson

The sportsbooks have a similar set of odds for the fight between Joshua Buatsi and Willy Hutchinson.

Latest Odds:

  • Buatsi 4/9
  • Draw 20/1
  • Hutchinson 5/2

Buatsi is a talented fighter and the consenus is that we are due a gear-change from him. He is a tremendously disciplined fighter, patient and disciplined. While not necessarily a huge puncher, he looked capable of stopping Azeez having gone to the trenches during that contest and with his apparent dislike for Hutchinson we think it is quite possible that he pushes through this time.

Hutchinson is game, and then some, but limited.  We think Buatsi will show his class and deliver on Saturday night, possibly grinding out a late stoppage or well-earned decision in which Willy will have his moments.

We are putting Buatsi to win anytime (4/9) in a double with Cacace to win anytime (4/9) that pays better than even-money.

  • Cacace to Win & Buatsi to Win
  • 4/9 x 4/9 = 11/10 (2.09 decimal odds)

The rest of the undercard

Elsewhere on the undercard we like the following outcomes, but the sportsbooks agree with us and the prices are oppressive.

  • Josh Kelly vs Ishmael Davis - fight to go the distance @ 4/11 (1.36)
  • Tyler Denny vs Hamzah SheerazSheeraz inside the distance @ 1/3 (1.33)

If you can find the best-prices you can put these two in a 4/5 double (1.81), but at the short odds-on for both of them you'll need to be pretty confident.
