During the previous month of September, the highest odds picked in these previews was the 7/1 odds for the winning bet on BTTS double with PaddyPower on the 16th of the month. However, there was also an odds-on loss at 2/1-on for Dinamo Minsk (W) (against Peamount) that got the month off to a terrible start. Cup ties, particularly in the earlier rounds of the Carabao Cup, frequently witness managers favouring a more conservative and rotation-heavy approach. Pep Guardiola, known for meticulously managing his squad through the gruelling English season, often opts for squad rotation in the League Cup.

With City’s focus on both domestic league supremacy and Champions League contention, Guardiola is expected to rest several first-team regulars, especially as key players like Rodri remain sidelined due to injury.
The Spanish midfielder has undergone surgery after injuring his knee in last Sunday's dramatic 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the Premier League.
His absence is particularly notable; Rodri’s role in controlling the midfield and breaking opposition lines has been instrumental for City. Without him, City’s midfield loses a degree of dynamism and stability, making it likely that Guardiola will adopt a more cautious setup with midfield replacements who may not replicate Rodri's influence.
Jack Grealish is also touch and go.
Tottenham, similarly, could be facing a shortage of pivotal figures. Heung-Min Son, the club's captain, is doubtful due to a recent hamstring niggle, leaving Tottenham's attacking options somewhat weakened. It remains to be seen if he will start on Wednesday.
